Encino is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. Probably the most notable features is the Los Encinos State Historic Park which features historic buildings, a small museum and picnic grounds. Also notable is the Sepulveda Basin Recreation area. This park includes multiple golf courses, soccer fields, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, bike paths, and a lake.
The area known as Encino was the home of a massive California live oak tree that was known as the Encino Oak Tree. Today there is a monument to the tree on the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Louise where the tree once stood.
